This place was completely chosen randomly. It seems to be a made up place added to the map by one of Second Life's users. This place, as I teleported my group members there was a weird writting and a description that said we were entering a mystic place and that we were going back to a distant time is history. The landscape was very beautiful and this picture was taken on a brige that was accompanied by miles of water. The place was vacant so we didn't get a chance to run into any other people to communicate with. Which was a bit dissapointing becuase in some cases (while exploring) I ran into some very intersting characters to say the least. This place had a peaceful appearance and was mainly landscape rather then structure. The coolest aspect of our travels was that I being the group leader and all would open the map and chose a place to meet, then i would click and invite my team of boys and standing there I would watch them all drop from the sky. It was a little hard to stay together, since there was so much to see and explore some of us would get lost and it was my job to bring the back for the photo shoot.
My personal opinion on Real World vs. Virtual World meeetings is two sided. Less actual commuication was displayed when we meet via SEcond Life. There was too much overlay in our typing and with 4 people ideas and thoughts were not actually making its way to our attentions. It was convenient however to meet from the comfort of my bed vs. traveling to the campus for our weeking group meeting. I for one am a people person and would much rather meet face to face and enjoy actually company.
